We are often asked "What parts should I use to build my truck?"

This is the run down for our shop truck named "3 Frame K5"

 

It is a 1974 K5 Blazer, 4" Lift, 35" tires, 4.10 gears, LM7 5.3, 4l60e, NP241, GM Dana 60 front with ARB locker front, 14 Bolt Full Float with ARB locker rear. 

New update, now has a LQ4 bored out to 370 with LSA supercharger, NV4500, and Magnum NP205

Summary

    Now the first thing people seem to ask about this truck, the wheels are Wheel Vintiques 16x10s painted with Rustoleum Gloss white. 

    This blazer is a great camping rig/daily driver. Everything needed to go explore in a relatively small package.

    It gets a plush on road ride and incredible off road flex from our custom springs front and rear. The front center pin was moved forward 1" to help with tire clearances, The front "fang" under the core support did need to be trimmed to fit the 35" tires.  In the rear we retained the tension style shackle and went up to a 6" super shackel to take advantage of some free droop. 

    The on road steering for long commutes is great with our crossover steering kit installed! When bound up on the trail it has no problem getting full lock to lock turning. 

    With selectable ARB air lockers front and rear it is ready for any trail that comes at it, and when daily driving you have open diffs making it a great multi-purpose setup. 

    With how much of a noodle these frames are and a Full Convertible being the worst a custom cage was built. This helps keep everything solid and brings safety to the passengers.

    Latest update:

    The truck now has a LQ4 bored out to 370, ls9 cam, ls3 heads, forged internals, and LSA Supercharger. To hold this new motor we used our LS adapter plates, Small block engine crossmember, and competition motor mounts. Normally with LS motors we use our big block engine crossmember but we wanted a little more uptravel. We installed a Tilden Motorsports High Clearance Oil Pan, this gave us enough room to run the small block crossmember. The 4l60e was swapped out with a NV4500. To handle all the extra power, we switched the NP241 with a Magnum NP205!

    With all this extra torque and gearing we wanted to make sure it all got to the ground, so we added one of our 2 Link traction bar kits

    Now being a manual we needed a parking break. One of our brake lock parking brake kits worked perfectly!

     

     

    Often we get asked if 35s can fit without trimming. It does take trimming to get full use of the suspension, but it can be done so its not too noticeable.
